Bath time with your little one

Motherhood can be really challenging and rewarding all at the same time. All mothers go through a variety of firsts: first bath time, first feeding, and even the first sleepless night to name a few. In a typical Filipino household, friends and family usually have all sort of advice when it comes to caring for a child. But one thing is for certain, a mother wants the best and safest possible care for her child.

All babies love taking a bath. Baby bath time can be special bonding experience with your baby (and partner). Touch has always been an effective tool in making babies comfortable and soothed. It may take a while before you get used to it but there are a lot of help and tools you can use to make bath time a pleasant and fun experience for you and your baby.

In bathing your baby, it is important to prepare all the things you need first. This includes the towel, warm water, flannel, and Sanosan Baby Bath and Shampoo. Make sure they are within easy reach during actual bath time and have someone ready to help at least during your first few sponge baths.

Make sure to check the warm water if it’s too hot on your wrist or with your elbow. The water should neither be too hot or cold. Gently clean your baby with Sanosan Baby Bath and Shampoo, a gentle and natural baby wash designed for delicate baby skin. For newborns, take care not wet the umbilical stump. It must be kept dry for faster healing. Babies whose umbilical stump already came off can do bath soaks instead of sponge baths. Don’t forget to clean between the folds of the skin. After the sponge bath, delicately pat your baby dry. Remember that babies tend to get cold quickly so wrap up your baby in flannel or soft towel right after bathing. Before putting on the diaper and clothes, powder the diaper area with Sanosan Baby Care Baby Powder to keep it dry and fresh. Dusting some baby powder between the folds of skin also prevents friction soreness and redness. After which, enjoy cuddling and playing with your baby, who’s going to smell and feel real good!
